FP fans, meet Dr. Sarah Weisberg, a therapist in North Bethesda, MD!
1) HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE STYLE OF YOUR THERAPY OFFICE?
Our office suite has a peaceful, elegant, modern, luxurious, spa-like vibe. Colleagues and clients have described it as beautiful, calming, and comforting.
I selected a lot of blues, greens, blush pinks, and greys for the decor of the suite, which I believe contribute to a peaceful modern aesthetic.
2) WHAT VIBE DO YOU HOPE YOUR OFFICE GIVES YOUR THERAPY CLIENTS?
My main objective as a practice owner is for clients and their families to feel valued, safe, and comfortable in our therapy suite. When someone walks in the door I want them to breathe a little sigh of relief to enter this spa-like space, shake off the stress from the day, and feel emotionally re-centered as they take this time to focus on self-care.
I added luxurious touches to represent the value we place on our clients and their therapy experience.
I want our clients to feel important and cared for when they enter our suite.
3) DO YOU HAVE ANY CREATURE COMFORTS IN YOUR OFFICE FOR CLIENTS?
We provide complimentary beverages (coffee, tea, sparking water, regular water) and snacks (granola bars, protein bars, nuts, and mints) to clients and their guests.
We have sound machines outside each office door, we play soft spa music in the waiting room, we provide free guest WiFi, and hardcover coffee table books and a few magazines in the waiting room.
Many of our chairs and sofas are upholstered in soft velvet, and we have plush pillows in our therapy rooms.
4) WHO DESIGNED AND DECORATED YOUR THERAPY OFFICE? DID YOU GET HELP FROM PROFESSIONALS, COLLEAGUES, FRIENDS, OR FAMILY?
I decorated the office together with an account manager at Wayfair Professional. She asked about my vision for the decor of my suite, looked at my Pinterest page for office decor inspiration, and made suggestions.
Most of my items were sourced from Wayfair, Joss & Main, All Modern, and HomeGoods.
5) ANY ADVICE FOR THERAPISTS WHO ARE JUST STARTING OUT AND DESIGNING THEIR OFFICE FOR THE FIRST TIME, OR SEASONED THERAPISTS LOOKING TO REDESIGN THEIR OFFICES?
My advice is to start with an inspiration board. I used Pinterest but any type of inspiration board will do. Pull decor ideas that truly speak to you.
Based on the services offered at your practice, ask yourself what design and decor will make your clients feel comfortable, cared for, and valued when they walk in your door.
